• Farm Profile: Farm name, selected crops, farm size, and unit preferences you enter during onboarding or in settings.
• Crop Images: Photos you take or upload for AI-powered disease diagnosis. These images are sent to our servers for analysis and are not stored permanently.
• Chat Messages: Text and voice inputs you provide to the AI farming assistant for generating agricultural advice.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's approximate location to provide localized weather forecasts and farming recommendations. Location data is not stored on our servers.
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and optimization.
• Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about feature usage to improve our app.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or payment information directly. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Crop Diagnosis: Your crop images are processed by our AI (powered by Azure OpenAI GPT-5.2) to identify diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
• Weather Services: Your location is used to fetch weather data from Open-Meteo (a free, open-source weather API) and generate AI-powered farming advice.
• AI Assistant: Your chat messages are sent to our AI backend to generate farming advice. Chat history is maintained only during your active session.
• Personalization: Your selected crops and farm profile are used locally on your device to customize recommendations.
• Market Prices: We display commodity prices from public government data sources relevant to your region.

3. Data Storage and Security

• On-Device Storage: Your farm profile, diagnosis history, and farm logs are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data remains on your device and is not synced to our servers.
• Temporary Processing: Crop images and chat messages are transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our backend servers for AI processing. Images are not permanently stored after analysis is complete.
• Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Azure OpenAI (Microsoft): For AI-powered crop diagnosis and farming advice. Subject to Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
• Open-Meteo: For weather forecast data. Open-Meteo is a free, open-source weather API that does not require personal data.
• Apple App Store: For subscription management and payment processing. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Camera, Microphone, and Location Permissions

• Camera: Used solely for taking photos of crops for disease diagnosis. Photos are processed by our AI and are not shared with third parties.
• Microphone: Used solely for voice input to the AI farming assistant. Audio is processed on-device using Apple's Speech framework and is not recorded or stored.
• Location: Used solely to provide accurate, localized weather forecasts for your farm. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

FarmWise AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data stored on-device through the app's Settings.
• Revoke camera, microphone, or location permissions at any time through your device's Settings app.
• Opt out of analytics collection.
• Request deletion of any data processed by our servers by contacting us.

8. Data Retention

• On-device data (diagnosis history, farm logs) is retained until you delete the app or clear data within the app.
• Server-processed data (images, chat messages) is not retained after processing is complete.
• Anonymous usage analytics may be retained for up to 12 months.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
